Biography
Mikhail Itkis is an Adjunct Professor in the College of Engineering and a researcher at the Center of Nanoscale Science and Engineering and in the Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Riverside. Dr. Itkis is an author on more than 150 peer-reviewed publications, mostly in the field of nanotechnology, with overall number of citations exceeding 13,800, and h-index of 55. In 2011, he was recognized by Thomson Reuters as one of the world top 100 chemists of the past decade based on the citation impact. His research interests include physics, material science, electronic and photonic applications of low dimensional nanomaterials such as carbon nanotubes, graphene, organic molecular conductors, and charge density waves compounds, and electrochromic applications of thin films of carbon nanotubes. Dr. Itkis had earned a BS and MS degrees in Physics and Engineering from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Russia, and a Ph.D. in Physics from the Institute of Radio Engineering & Electronics, Russian Academy of Sciences, for his study of quasi-one-dimensional crystals with sliding charge density waves.
