Zofia Niemczura is the Metallurgical Engineer granted with PhD and DSc degrees in Physical Metallurgy from Technical University, Poznan, PL, and from Academy of Mining and Metallurgy (AGH), Krakow, Pl. As the professor at TU Poznan she was focused on microstructure-property relationship, phase transformation in steels, heat resistant alloys, and failure analysis, which resulted in 36 publications, and 2 books. She worked later as the researcher and visiting professor in University of IL. at Chicago and ultimately accepted a researcher position in Arcelor Mittal LLC Global R&D, East Chicago, USA. Her main technical focus in recent years was: heat resistant alloys deterioration mechanism and prevention, tool steel, alloy selection and evaluation, failure analysis of manufacturing equipment, and defects in steel sheets. She has been granted of two USA patents, she published student textbook on Mechanical Metallurgy for UIC students plus several additional papers in the journals and conference proceedings. She is also recipient of various recognition during her carrier in Poland and in USA.

Rajendra Singh is D. Houser Banks professor in the Holcombe Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Director of Center for Nanoelectronics at Clemson University. During Oil embargo of 1973, he decided to do his PhD dissertation in the area of Silicon solar Cells. With proven success in operations, project/program leadership, R&D, product/process commercialization, and start-ups, Dr. Singh is a leading semiconductor and photovoltaics (PV) expert with over 37 years of industrial and academic experience. From solar cells to low power electronics, he has led the work on semiconductor and photovoltaic device materials and processing by manufacturable innovation and defining critical path. His current research interest is to provide global leadership in phasing out alternating current based grid by PV generated local direct current based power networks. He is fellow of IEEE, SPIE, ASM and AAAS. Dr. Singh has received a number of international awards. Photovoltaics World (October 2010) selected him as one of the 10 Global “Champions of Photovoltaic Technology”. Dr. Singh is 2014 recipient of the SPIE Technology Achievement Award On April 17, 2014 he was honored by US President Barack Obama as a White House “Champion of Change for Solar Deployment” for his leadership in advancing solar energy with PV technology. Dr. Sarker, the President, CEO and CTO of Waste Technologies, LLC (WTL) since 2013, is the sole owner of the company. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), Manchester, UK. He also has a Masters and a Bachelors degree, both in Chemistry, from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Dr. Sarker has been the Vice President of Research & Development for NSR since 2005 where he invented the technology which makes up US Patent # 8,927,797 B2 “Method for converting waste plastics to lower – molecular weight hydrocarbons, particularly hydrocarbon fuel materials and the hydrocarbon material produced thereby.” An additional 5 patents are pending. This work has garnered numerous awards both nationally and internationally. In addition to having published more than 110 research articles he acts as Editor-in Chief for 15 renowned international journals; World Research Journal of Physical Chemistry, International Journal of Chemical Research, and the World Research Journal of Environment and Waste Management and Editor of 155 and 175 of peer reviewer of national and international journals. Dr, Sarker wrote 6 books including chapters on Waste Plastic to Fuel. Guy DACULSI completed his Ph.D degree in Biological Sciences, University of Nantes in 1979. Guy DACULSI is Research Director Inserm exceptional class (DRE) at the University of Nantes. He is associated with the International Society of Ceramics in Medicine as a president (2007-2009) and Secretary General since 2009. He is also the board member of the International Union of Societies for Biomaterials Science and Engineering Committee since June 2012. In 1978, he was the Award Winner INAVA International Group for Scientific Research in Dentistry and Stomatology (GIRSO).

Dr. Elena Cerro-Prada received her PhD in Physics from Autónoma University of Madrid (UAM). She lectured at the University of Birmingham, UK, and worked at CERN, among other research and academic positions. Dr Cerro-Prada currently serves as Professor and Head of the Physics Department in the School of Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Madrid (UPM). Dr. Cerro -Prada has contributed greatly to the understanding of cementitious materials microstructure by nano-characterization and modification with nanoparticles. She is currently involved in the development of titanium dioxide nanoparticles to provide cement-based materials with photocatalytic properties, as well as computational nanotechnology for smart cementitious materials.

Since January 2002, Dr. Matthew E. Edwards has held the position of Professor of Physics in the Department of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at Alabama A&M University, Normal, AL and served as Dean, of the School of Arts and Sciences, from 2007 to 2011, a period of 4.5 years. Previous academic positions held by Dr. Edwards prior to 2002 include associate professorships at Spelman College, in Atlanta, GA and Fayetteville State University, in Fayetteville, NC, and he was a visiting associate professor and adjunct faculty member for ten years at the University of Pittsburgh, in Pittsburgh, PA, and an assistant professor of physics at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, in Pine Bluff, AR. Three summer faculty research positions that he held were at the ROME Air Force Research Lab, ROME NY, in 1996, NASA Langley Research Laboratories, Hampton, VA, in 1983, and the Naval Research Lab., Washington, DC, in 1982. Dr. Edwards is a Condensed Matter Physicist with research expertise in (1) materials of electrooptics, (2) pyroelectric/resistivity/dielectric properties of crystals and nano-particles doped organic thin films, (3) the production of large organic thin films, (4) solitons wave theory, and (5) STEM Education research and problem solving. Dr. Edwards has more than 40 publications* (please see the below message). Also, he has guided four students to advanced degrees: three to the Ph.D., and one to the master’s degree, and has served on more than 12 other dissertations and theses committees. Presently, he is guiding two Ph.D. and two master’s degree students. Also, he sits on the Board of Directors of one science journal publication and one for science education. Dr. Edwards (a scholar/researcher in the physical sciences) holds the Ph.D. and Master’s degree in physics from Howard University, received in 1977 and 1975, respectively, and a B.S degree in engineering physics from North Carolina A&T State University, in 1969. His additional formal studies include: (1) physics courses at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, in 1987, (2) certificate course of the American Chemical Society on Surfactants, Micelles, Liposomes, Liquid Crystals, Emulsions and Microemulsions, at Clarkson College, Potsdam, NY, in 1998. Dr. Edwards as principal investigator (PI) has also received several minorities-targeted grants from NIH, and one minorities-targeted grant each from NASA and two from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the one summer faculty-targeted grant from the Air Force Office Of Scientific Research. As PI or Co-PI, Dr. Edwards has had several other grants as well. At AAMU, Dr. Edwards founded the Annual STEM Day, in 2006. Also, he founded in 2009 the IDC-HSHD&M (the Interdisciplinary Center for Health Sciences, Health Disparities, and Materials), which, as a center, has assisted more than 16 young faculty members and others to develop their research programs.

Prof. Hideo Miura has received his PhD from Tohoku University, Japan. He had worked for Hitachi Ltd., Japan for 20 years as a Chief Researcher of mechanical reliability of various products and moved to Tohoku University in 2003. He is the director of Fracture and Reliability Research Institute. His main research topic now is prediction and prevention of fracture of advanced functional materials and devices. He has published more than 200 technical papers in the field of mechanical reliability of various materials and thin-film devices, and has been serving as an organizer of international conferences.

Cengiz Ozkan is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering at the University of California, Riverside since 2009. He was an Associate Professor from 2006 to 2009 and an Assistant Professor from 2001-2006. Between 2000-2001, he was a consulting professor at Stanford University. He received his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University in 1997. His advisors were W. Nix and H. Gao. He organized and chaired 14 scientific and international conferences; He has more than 200 technical publications including journal papers, conference proceedings and book chapters; over 50 patent disclosures, has given more than 100 presentations worldwide and is the recipient of more than 30 honors and awards. His important contributions include: the first time growth of hierarchical three dimensional graphene nanostructures; development of a unique high-throughput metrology method for large-area CVD grown graphene sheets; doping and functionalization of CVD grown and pristine graphene layers; study of digital data transmission in graphene and InSb materials; memory devices based on inorganic/organic nanocomposites, novel lithium-ion batteries based on nano-silicon from beach sand and silicon dioxide nanotubes; fast charging lithium-ion batteries based on silicon decorated three dimensional nano-carbon architectures; and high performance supercapacitors based on three dimensional graphene foam architectures.

Dr. Ozkan’s areas of expertise include nanomaterials for energy storage; synthesis and processing including graphene, III-V and II-VI materials; novel battery and supercapacitor architectures; nanoelectronics; biochemical sensors; and nanopatterning for beyond CMOS.

Dr Jun DING obtained his Diplom Physics from University of Wuppertal in 1986, and PhD degree from Ruhr University Bochum, Germany in 1990. He has been working on magnetic and nanostructured materials for more than 25 years. He is currently working as Professor at Department of Materials Science & Engineering, National University of Singapore. He has published over 350 journal papers with a total citation > 9000 and H-Index = 52.

Professor Lixin Xue, Chief Scientist of Ningbo Institute of Industrial Technologies, Chinese Academy of Sciences (NIMTE, CAS), has published over 80 scientific papers and 150 patents including 33 PCT Patents. Dr. Xue has served as reviewers for various international Journals including Journal of Materials Chemistry, Journal of Membrane Science, Desalination and Separation and Purification Technology. He is also a member of the “Thousand Talent Program” of Chinese Government.

His research interest is focused on the areas of fabricating functional polymer membranes and exploring their applications in the fields of green energy generation and storage, energy conservation and environment protection.

Dr Abbas Amini is an associate lecturer, a registered member of Western Sydney University graduate supervisory board at the School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematics, and the member of Work Health and Safety Committee of the same university. Before joining the Western Sydney University, he had conducted research with other Australian universities and CSIRO, at Monash University, Deakin University, and the University of Melbourne. His fine outcomes have been presented in high impact factor journals, e.g., Nature publication group, and a book published in 2016. Abbas started his teaching, industrial and scientific journey from obtaining an associate’s degree in mathematics, BSc and MSc in mechanical engineering, and PhD in both nanotechnology and mechanical engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He has also updated himself by several Australian and Canadian nationally recognized professional certificates and diplomas, e.g., FULT (Foundations of University Learning and Teaching from Western Sydney University), TAE, WHS, CNC etc., since then. With his intense schedule, he has been extensively involved in teaching for many years, and worked in industry, e.g., Magna Powertrain, Toronto, Canada, as a professional engineer and industrial designer for a period of six years. Dr Amini is a member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), an active reviewer for and editor of several ISI journals, and a committee member of 14 international conferences to-date, including the co-chair of 8th International Conference of ICCAE 2016, Melbourne, Australia, Mar. 3-4, 2016. Nezar H. Khdary obtained his PhD from the University of Southampton, UK 2005. He is a member of Royal Society of chemistry (MRSC,CChem), American Chemical Society, The New York Academy of Sciences, Saudi Chemical Society and Saudi Computer Society,. In 2012 he nominated an assistant professor visitor at Northwestern University. Currently Dr. Khdary is associate professor at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology) KACST, Saudi Arabia.

Professor Xuanhui Qu is the Cheung Kong Scholars Program Professor in Materials and the Dean of Institute for Advanced Materials and Technology at University of Science and Technology Beijing. Dr. Qu received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from Central South University in 1981, 1984 and 1992 respectively. During 1986 to 1988, he was studying and working as a visiting scientist at The University of British Columbia (Canada). He is the standing committee member of Chinese Materials Research Society and the President of Powder Metallurgy Branch of Chinese Society for Metals. He is the editor-in-chief and vice-editor-in-chief of “Powder Metallurgy Technology” and “Powder Metallurgy Industry” respectively, and serves as the member on the editorial board of over ten journals. Hyung Hee Cho received the Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA in 1992. Since 1995, he is a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Yonsei University, Seoul, KOEAR and he is currently a president of University-Industry Foundation. His major research interests include heat transfer and thermal management for high temperature devices and he has published more than 150 papers in reputed journals. Based on his renowned reputation, he has been appointed as an Underwood Distinguished Professor at Yonsei University. He is also a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and a general member of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea.

Xiaoliang Wei is a staff scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in the United States. His research experience includes electrochemical energy conversion and storage, dielectric energy storage, and surface morphology studies of self-assembled monolayers. The current focus of his work is to develop novel component materials for various aqueous and non-aqueous redox flow batteries. Dr. Wei has authored and co-authored more than 30 journal publications, 6 patent applications, and 1 book chapter. Dr. Wei received his PhD degree in chemistry from Brown University in 2009, and his BS degree in materials science & engineering from University of Science and Technology of China in 2003.

Dr. Yuanzhi ZHU is the Beijing Great Wall Scholars Program Professor in Materials Science and Engineering at North China University of Technology. Prior to this, he was a Professor at Wuhan University of Science and Technology. Before he moved to Wuhan, he had worked in Hunan University and Lianyuan Iron & Steel Company for 5 and 6 years, respectively. During 2010.9-2011.9, he was a visiting scholar at Harvard University. He obtained his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from Central South University. He was also awarded “1000 talents of Beijing” Scholarship. Professor ZHU has published 120 articles covering advanced material characterization and processing.

Dr. Zhi Sun has completed his PhD in 2011 from KU Leuven. He is currently a Senior Researcher at Delft University of Technology. His main research interests include metal recycling from urban mines and industrial waste and materials design for recycling. He has published more than 40 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as an editorial board member of Journal of Powder Metallurgy and Mining and American Journal of Environmental Engineering and Science.

Abd. Rashid bin Mohd Yusoff received his BA in Physics with Education from Universiti Putra Malaysia, his MSc. in Applied Physics from Universiti Malaya, and his PhD in Physics from Universidade Federal do Parana, Brazil. After graduation in 2011, he joined the faculty in the Department of Information Display at the Kyung Hee University as a post-doctoral fellow studying organic photovoltaic (OPV), organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), and quantum-dots light emitting diodes (QLEDs). In 2012, he was promoted as a Research Professor at Kyung Hee University and continues working on OPV and OLEDs as well as QLEDs. In 2012, he became the group leader responsible for the development of high efficiency OPV joint program between South Korea and Japan. In early 2015, he was selected as a Guest Professor at Ecole Polytechnique Federal de Lausanne, where he works closely with Professor Md. Khaja Nazeeruddin on perovskite solar cells. He has published more than 60 articles in these fields and being invited to various seminars and conferences. He also contributed 4 book chapters and edited 2 books on graphene under Wiley-VCH Verlag; i) Graphene-based Energy Devices and ii) Graphene Optoelectronic: Synthesis, Characterizations, Properties, and Applications. In addition, we is also one of the technical organizing committees for the 3rd Conference on New Advances in Condensed Matter Physics (NACMP 2016, February 28-March 1), Beijing, China. Furthermore, he was also an Editor-in-Chief of Theme Collection in Nanoscale (Graphene-based Energy Devices) (Royal Society of Chemistry).

His research interests include electronic properties of organic semiconductor thin films, charge transport properties, device physics, organic and inorganic-based light emitting devices, organic photovoltaic and organic transistors.

Dr. Edwards as principal investigator (PI) has also received several minorities-targeted grants from NIH, and one minorities-targeted grant each from NASA and two from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the one summer faculty-targeted grant from the Air Force Office Of Scientific Research. Agarwal is the William Palm Professor of Engineering and the director of Aerospace Engineering Program and Aerospace Research and Education Center at Washington University in St. Louis from 1994 to 200. He was the Sam Bloomfield Distinguished Professor and Executive Director of the National Institute for Aviation Research at Wichita State University. Mufit Akinc is professor the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Iowa State University. He was also chair of the Materials Science and Engineering Department from 1995 to 2006 and served as interim Dean of engineering college in 2012-2013. Currently, he is the Professor-in charge of International Engagements for the College of Engineering at Iowa State University. Akinc’s research interests include synthesis and processing of ceramic powders and fibers, intermetallics, bioinspired nano materials, IR transmitting materials, and polymer composite repair. Akinc has published over 180 articles and seven patents. He made approximately 80 invited and 150 contributed talks and lectures around to world. He was appointed three times as a consultant to the United Nations to assist governments of Korea and Turkey. He was also visiting professor at Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1996 and 1997. He was a senior Fulbright lecturer in 2009 at Koc University, Istanbul Turkey, and EU consultant to Warsaw University of Technology, Warsaw, Poland. Madeleine du Toit is Professor and Head of the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. Abebaw Jemere is a senior research officer at the National Institute for Nanotechnology (NINT), National Research Council Canada, Edmonton, Alberta. His current research interest lies at the intersection of micro/nanotechnology and bio and environmental systems, particularly in the development of nanobiosensors and lab-on-a-chip systems for chemical, biochemical and biological analysis.

Dr. Jemere’s research primarily focuses on developing miniaturized analytical techniques for the separation, detection and identification of biomolecules. He conducts research in the areas of capillary electrophoresis, capillary electrochromatography, immunoassay, metabolomics, proteomics, mass spectrometric detection and lab-on-a-chip technology as well as developing novel biosensors.

Dr. Ram Mohan is currently a Professor of nanoengineering. He is also the co-lead of the computational science and engineering research cluster at North Carolina A&T State University. Dr. Mohan currently has nearly 100 peer reviewed journal articles, book chapters and conference proceedings to his credit. He plays an active role in American Society for Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and serves as the chair of the ASME materials processing technical committee. He also serves as the member of the Nanoengineering Council Steering Committee with a focus on nanoengineering in energy and medicine. He is a member of American Society of Aeronautics (AIAA), American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), Society for Advancement of Materials and Process Engineering (SAMPE), and regularly presents, organizes and conducts seminars and conferences for these professional and engineering organizations. Dr. Mohan has been serving as a regular reviewer for several scientific journals and conferences in his field of research. Over the past several years, he has worked with and his research work has been supported by several federal agencies and industries. He has been an invited and keynote speaker at several international conferences, universities, research laboratories, and industries in US, Europe, India and several other countries. His industrial interactions include Lockheed Martin-Manassas, Boeing-Mesa, Northrop Grumman, Boeing-St. Louis, and Lockheed Martin-Skunk Works.

Dr. Mohan’s current research activities, contributions and interests include the areas of computational multi-physics/multi-scale modeling and simulation in engineering and physical applications; computational mechanics, nanomechanics, and material sciences; processing, mechanics, characterization, and computational modeling of multi-scale composite and nanoengineered material systems (crystalline, amorphous, bio and cementitious material systems and their multi-scale effects); computational modeling of bio and nano systems, interfaces, and interactions; transport phenomena; flow and thermal behavior during composite material processing and fibrous porous media; physics based composite modeling simulations, process optimizations, and experimental investigations for resin transfer molding (RTM), vacuum assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM) and liquid composite molding (LCM) processes; high performance, scalable scientific computing and engineering product visualization; engineering education.

Carlo Montemagno, PhD, is the former and founding Dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Cincinnati. Immediately prior, he was the Chair of the Department of Bioengineering and Associate Director of the California NanoSystems Institute as well as the Roy & Carol Doumani Professor of Biomedical Engineering at UCLA. Previous to Montemagno’s tenure with UCLA, he served as Associate Professor in the Department of Biological and Environmental Engineering at Cornell University. Montemagno earned his B.S. in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from Cornell (1980) and M.S. in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from Penn State University (1990). After completing his undergraduate studies in 1980, he joined the United States Navy and served for ten years in several senior management positions as a Civil Engineering Corps Officer. He then joined Argonne National Laboratory where he led laboratory and field investigations developing bioremediation technology for the treatment of hazardous waste. In 1995 Montemagno earned his PhD in Civil Engineering and Geological Sciences from Notre Dame University. Upon obtaining his PhD in Civil Engineering, he began his academic career as an Assistant Professor at Cornell University in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering where he was one of the pioneers in the field of Nanobiotechnology.

Dr Fang Xie was awarded her PhD in 2008 and was appointed as a Lecturer at Imperial College London in 2013. She is also Deputy Director for MSc in Advanced Materials in the Department of Materials. Her current researchinterests include plasmonic nanostructures for efficient light harvesting for solar cells and solar fuels, as well as in ultrasensitive biosensing and Bioimaging applications. Prof. Vaseashta received a PhD from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, VA in 1990. He currently serves as Vice Provost for Research at Claflin University and Strategic Advisor/Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Sciences Convergence and International Clean Water Institute at Norwich University Applied Research Institutes. Previously, he served as a Professor of Physics and Physical Sciences and Director of Research at the Nanomaterials Processing and Characterization Laboratories, Graduate Program in Physical Sciences at Marshall University. Concurrently, he holds a visiting/distinguished Professorship at the 3 Nano-SAE Research Centre, University of Bucharest, Romania; Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Chisinau, Moldova; and at the Helen and Martin Kimmel Center of Nanoscale Science at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel. In 2007-08, he was detailed as a William C. Foster fellow to the Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation at the US Department of State working with the Office of Weapons of Mass Destruction and Terrorism and Foreign Consequence Management program. He also served (2009-13) as Franklin Fellow and strategic S&T advisor in the office of Verification and Transparency Technologies/Arms Verification and Control in the Bureau of Arms Control Verification and Compliance, Office of Verification and Transparency Technologies at the US Department of State. He is a fellow of the American Physical Society, Institute of Nanotechnology, and New York Academy of Sciences. He was awarded Gold medal by the Armenian National Polytechnic University (formerly State Engineering University of Armenia) for his contribution to Nanotechnology. In addition, he has earned several other fellowships and awards for his meritorious service including 2004/2005 Distinguished Artist and Scholar award. His research interests include; counterterrorism, unconventional warfare, critical-Infrastarture protection, biosecurity, advanced and nano materials for development of chemical-bio sensors/detectors, environmental pollution monitoring/detecting and remediation, and green nanotechnology. He authored over 200 research publications, edited/authored six books on nanotechnology, presented many keynote and invited lectures worldwide, served as the Director of four NATO Advanced Study Institutes/Advanced Research workshops supported by Emerging Security Challenges Division of the Science for Peace and Security, and co-chair of an International Symposium on Nanotechnology and Environmental Pollution Prevention (ISNEPP). He led the U.S. position on Nanotechnology in High Technology Coordination Group to joint US and India delegation. In addition, he served as a member of the U.S. Department of Commerce, NIST, and ANSI delegation to the U.K. representing the U.S. position on Standards in Nanotechnologies at the inaugural meeting of the ISO/TAG to TC-229. He is a member of NATO-SET-040, an exploratory team panel investigating security and surveillance applications of nanotechnology. He serves as an expert counsel to the UNESCO, ObservatoryNANO, and COSENT – south-east consortium on Nanotechnologies on NANO-Science and Technologies. He is an active member of several national and international professional organizations.

Dr Kar Seng (Vincent) Teng is an Associate Professor and leads the Nanoelectronics Research Group in the College of Engineering at Swansea University in the United Kingdom. He received his PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Swansea University, and has extensive research experiences in the study of nanoscale electronic materials and devices. This involves the application of nanotechnology in electronics, which has major impact in healthcare, computer, photonic and energy technologies. He has the expertise in the fabrication and characterisation of nanoscale electronic materials and devices, as well as controlling their properties through surface engineering for novel applications. His funded research includes the investigation of low-dimensional electronic materials, such as graphene, metal-oxide and nitride nanostructures etc., in the development of ultra-sensitive nano-biosensors for the early detection of diseases, short-wavelength lasers for ultra-high density data storage, nano-plasmonics for photovoltaic technology and fabrication of nanoelectronic devices using printing technology etc. He is also a Journal Editor for Fluorescent Materials.

Professor Ali Eftekhari is the President of the American Nano Society. He has established Department of Electrochemistry at MERC and School of Materials Science & Engineering at Jimma University from scratch. He has authored about 100 papers in high impact scholarly journals. He has supervised over 100 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.

Abebaw Jemere is a senior research officer at the National Institute for Nanotechnology (NINT), National Research Council Canada, Edmonton, Alberta. He obtained his Ph.D from the University of Alberta in 2003, specializing in Micro fabrication and miniaturization of analytical systems. Prior to NINT, he worked at CMC Microsystems (Kingston, Ontario) and Advanced Integrated Microsystems (Edmonton, Alberta) as staff scientist. Alexander Gorin is a professor of Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus. He is a holder of a conjoint Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mathematics and PhD degree in Engineering Science. Due to his achievements he has been awarded as well the Higherpost-doctoral Doctor of Science degree andan Academic titleof Professor. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE, UK). His research in manufacturing and machining of advanced ceramics, composite materials, fundamental heat and mass transfer studies in porous media and fluid mechanics of separated flows, biofluidmechanics, multiphase systems, transport phenomena in living systems is widely recognized in the scientific and engineering communities. He has served on numerous organising committees for international conferences, has collaborated with various international institutions. He has published more than200 papers, including books and patents. He is a member of Editorial Boards for International Journal of Energy & Technology, Bioceramics Development and Applications,Journal of Fluid Flow Heat and Mass Transfer and has been invited as a keynote speaker for many conferences, congresses, and symposia. More than 20 PhD students have been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree for studies completed under the Prof Alexander Gorin’s supervision.

Dr. James Liang is a Professor at Stevens Institute of Technology. Previously, Dr. Liang served as professor at Tsinghua University (Beijing) and Associate Research Professor at University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). Dr. Liang is currently editorial board members of three scientific journals and has over 100 peer-reviewed publications. There are three research projects in Dr. Liang, Laboratory: 1) Bacteria responsible materials for bio-fouling and medical device infections; 2) Therapeutic peptides; and 3) Nano-technology enabled bacteria and cancer cell sensing.

Dr. James Liang's research interests are bioactive peptides, functional polymers, and their potential pharmaceutical and biomedical applications.

Prof.Dr.A.Abdelghani is a Full Professor at the National Institute of Applied Science and Technology (INSAT, Tunisia) working mainly in the field of Microsensors and Microsystems. He obtained the master degrees in Microelectronic Devices at the INSA of Lyon (France) in 1994, then a Ph.D thesis from Ecole Centrale of Lyon (France) in 1997. He obtained a post-doc position in Germany between 1997-2000 in the field of biophysics. He obtained the Habilitation in Physics in Tunisia (faculty of Science of Tunis) in 2004 and a Habilitation (worlwide recognition for conducting and leading research) in Sciences pour l’Ingénieur in 2009 at the Ecole Normale Supérieur de Cachan (France). He organized three International Conferences in Tunisia in the Field of Nanotechnology (2009, 2012 and 2014) with the Alexander Von Humboldt Foundation (Germany). He is now the leader and principal investigator of a research group working mainly on gas sensors based on functionalized carbon nanotubes (metallic oxides, nanowires, nanoneedles, polymers) and on the development of interdigitated gold microelectrodes integrated in microfluidic cell for bacteria analysis in biologic medium. He published more than 80 papers in International Journals and supervised more than 10 Ph.D thesis and 30 masters student. He edited two chapters book in the field of optical microscopy and biosensors. Prof. Abdelghani is part of worldwide renowned scientists as editorial member of several peer-reviewed scientific journals He was a coordinator of Science For Peace NATO Project (2009-2011), National science Fondation Project (2009-2013), Tunisian Coordinator of Tempus-Project (2013-2016) and coordinator of a recent second NATO-SFP project (2013-2016). Prof. Abdelghani developed worldwide collaborations and industrial partnership. He is deeply involved in industrial applications in his field of research with implications for the design and the development of affordable and cost-effective sensing devices for diagnostics and theranostics which will have an effective impact in the developing countries.

Dr. Donglei Fan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin since January 2010. She received her bachelor's degree in chemistry from the Department of Intensive Instruction (DII), an honor program for gifted youth, from Nanjing University (NJU) in 1999, master's (2003) and doctorate (2007) degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University (JHU). She also obtained another master's degree in Electrical Engineering from JHU in 2005. Between 2007 and 2009, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at JHU. Her research focuses on exploiting the fundamental magnetic, optical, chemical, and mechanical properties of materials for innovative design, manufacturing, and applications of nanomaterials in biochemical sensing, single live cell stimulation, MEMS/NEMS, and energy conversion and storage devices. She is the inventor of Electric Tweezers that can precisely manipulate nanoscale materials in aqueous suspension by combined AC and DC electric fields. Prof. Fan's research has spurred a series of publications including Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Communications, the Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences, Physical Review Letters, Advanced Materials, Applied Physics Letters, ACS Nano, and a few pending patents.In 2012, Prof. Fan has won the prestigious National Science Foundation CAREER Award. Her work on bottom-up assembling of inorganic nanomotors was selected as the #3 of ‘10 discoveries that will shape the future in 2014’ by British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Focus magazine. She was one of 30 US young engineers, selected and invited to attend the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) 2013 EU-US Frontier of Engineering Symposium in France. Narayan Bhattarai has received his Ph.D. in Chonbuk National University during the period of 1997-2003. Currently, he is working as Assistant Professor in North Carolina A&T State University. She get her Habilitation in Phyics-Chemistry (option: Nanomaterials) from University of Paris 13 (France) in December 2013. She is now a member of research group of Pr. A. Abdelghani working mainly on gas sensors and biosensors. She published more than 20 papers in international journal and was invited several times as visiting professor and invited speaker.

Dr. Solhe F. Alshahateet is Associate Professor of Crystal Engineering and Organic Supramolecular Chemistry graduated in 2003 from the University of New South Wales / Australia. He works at Mutah University since 2007. He received many awards such as Australian Research Council and Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education scholarships. He was engaged in many projects from local and international funding agencies. Dr. Alshahateet attended many conferences worldwide. He published more than 65 articles mostly in international journals dealing with crystal engineering and supramolecular chemistry involving industrial applications. In addition, he is working as a referee for many international specialized journals. Highlights of his research have been in the area of synthesis and characterisation of semiconducting materials, organic materials for industrial applications (functional materials) such as pharmaceutical industry. After completing his PhD (2002) at the UNSW, he undertook research in new synthesis chemistry as a Research Fellow at UNSW for about one year. Since then he had undertaken research into synthesis of new organic materials at the Institute of Chemical and Engineering Sciences ICES, Singapore. He had research visitor appointments at the University of New South Wales (Australia) and at the University of South Florida (USA). He has considerable teaching and research experience, recently in his supervision and co-supervision of postgraduate and undergraduate students in many countries worldwide.

Serhii Shafraniuk has completed his Ph.D at the age of 26 years from Kiev State University and postdoctoral studies from Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Among his interests were non-equilibrium properties of inhomogeneous superconductors, transport phenomena in layered superconductors, electromagnetic properties of quantum wells, and Josephson junction qubits. Before coming to USA, Serhii had been working in various leading research centers in Germany, the Netherlands, and Japan (1990-2002). At present, Serhii is the Research Associate Professor at the Physics and Astronomy Department, Northwestern University, a premier educational and research institution. At Northwestern (2002-present) he served as a PI in research projects related to electromagnetic properties of carbon nanotube and graphene field effect transistors, thermoelectric transport in carbon nanotube and graphene multi-barrier devices, and qubits. He has received numerous prestigious awards and published more than 100 papers in reputed journals and served as an organizer of various International Conferences.

Dr. Shafraniuk's research is oriented around nano-physics, particularly the electromagnetic and far-infrared properties of graphene and carbon nanotube junctions.
